Hehe...200kb limit! I remember when I didn't get any spam at hotmail either. Or I'd get spam, but I'd read it and reply back saying that they had the wrong email address. Too funny.

On the Money

I remember the buzz in early 2001 when I got a hotmail.com that started with my own name (and no numbers). Still use it today. Happy days!

I went back to college in '96 after a three year break. Someone told me I had my own email address, all I remember is it was a mixture of numbers and some of my initials that corresponded to my library pass, college name and .ac.uk.

I logged on (with some help from someone) through, I think a system that was maybe called a VAX (?) based system. It was DOS based, green screen and you needed to be reasonably IT familiar to actually log on to the system to see what messages awaited you, if any.

I had to write to my friend who was away in London to get his email address to test it out.

That's progress. This is in an interesting clip Tamara, thanks for sharing.
